Rest in Peace, Mr. Linkletter

What a life he had. Adopted, you know. By a family so poor he once said, "the Depression made no mark on me."

I think the best part of the above-linked story is this:

In 1998, Mr. Linkletter joined Cosby to co-host the first episode of "Kids Say The Darndest Things." At the end of the show, Cosby revealed that the entire studio audience was composed of adults who had appeared on Mr. Linkletter's "House Party" as children.

In an interview with the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation, Mr. Linkletter recalled the moment as one of the happiest in his life: "It was like going to an orphanage, and they said, 'These are all your children.' "

After the Argument

Apologizing isn't as hard as you think. Most of the time, the other person is ready to do the same. They might lack the courage to be so humble. So be brave, step up, and say "I'm sorry."

You just might be surprised at how easy it will be.

And if you still lack courage, seek it in Confession, which is a fine way to first find forgiveness for your anger, and then gain the graces necessary to be as humble as you must be to apologize without excuses or justifications for your actions.

Be not afraid.

Wordless Wednesday: Sun-Dappled Mountains

I took these as a storm was rolling in. I loved how the sunlight was illuminating parts of the mountains! (Note: I didn't retouch these at all, it was just that pretty.)

Who are your heros?
